One half of the scorching duo, Sleigh Bells, Alexis Krauss shares the first and last records she bought and the one she turns to in emergencies
‘The Blue Album’
The first album I purchased was ‘The Blue Album’, I bought it at Sound Wave, a small store on main street of my small town. I was obsessed with ‘Undone – The Sweater Song’ and ‘Say It Ain’t So’. I was about nine years old at the time and I would blast it in my living room and vividly remember playing air guitar to the solo in ‘Say It Ain’t So’.
‘Nothing More To Say’
My fiancé turned me onto this band. The lead singer came into his tattoo shop and got tattooed shortly before he passed away. This album breaks my heart, especially the cry and melancholy in Dan Klein’s voice.
Loretta Lynn & Patsy Cline
‘On Tour No.1’
This is a compilation album of two of my favourite artists. I’ve been listening to this since high school and it never fails to completely transport me. Every time I listen to tracks like ‘The Other Woman’ and ‘I Fall To Pieces’, I’m still in absolute awe of their voices and the songwriting. I also really love cooking to this album.
