Tim Story ‘Threads’ (Dais)

Found in a car glovebox, like a lost pair of shades, this neglected early 80s work from US composer Tim Story finally makes it to vinyl. His instruments back then? Begged, borrowed and Sellotaped. His piano? Set to soft pedal. With vibraphones tinkling and his Les Paul in slo-mo, this adopted Ohioan allowed oodles of acoustic space in the unfolding ambience. A Stravinsky with synths (Strasynthi?), especially on the elegiac sweeps of ‘Without Waves’. Worth rummaging for.
