We’re very sad to report that Stephen Luscombe, who formed Blancmange with Neil Arthur in 1979, has died at the age of 69.

Blancmange became one of the pioneers of British synthpop, enjoying a string of hits such as ‘Living On The Ceiling’, ‘Feel Me’ and ‘Blind Vision’. Neil Arthur has responded to the news about Stephen’s death with a simple six-word post on X: “Heartbroken. RIP Stephen. Love you forever.”

Electronic Sound sends our sincere condolences to all of Stephen’s family and friends.
