Kid606 ‘The Action Packed Mentallist Brings You The Fucking Jams’ (Violent Turd, 2002)

Back in April 2012, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, my two young daughters – then aged four and five – were watching the Electrical Water Pageant float past. Transfixed by its colourful show of lights, they genuinely believed it to be the work of pure magic.

As someone who writes about a lot of weird music, I can get desensitised to it. The soundtrack to an imaginary film about school dinners? Meh.

I heard rumours of this album’s existence – originally released privately as ‘Canaxis 5’ in 1969 and credited to Technical Space Composer’s Crew – in the days before the internet.
