The track from 1981 is getting its first airing more than 40 years after it was recorded

M, Robin Scott’s vehicle for one of the finest electronic pop songs all time, the immortal ‘Pop Muzik‘, are putting out a previously unreleased track, ‘Baby Close The Window‘.

The track, which lay abandoned for over 40 years, was discovered recently when Robin was going through his archives. According to Scott, the track was “unreleased at the time, as I was preoccupied with recording ‘The Arrangement‘ [Scott’s 1982 collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto].”

Digital-only 7-inch and 12-inch mixes of the track will be released on streaming platforms tomorrow (21 April 2023).

Also in the blocks is a Record Store Day red vinyl 12-inch re-issue of ‘Pop Muzik‘, available to those who queue outside their favoured record emporium on Saturday morning. This will be followed by a series of digital releases over the coming months.
