Duo to play rare show at London’s Water Rats 27 July 2024

Heads up, London-adjacent people. Ultramarine have a show in London on 27 July at the King’s Cross venue Water Rats, where they played their first non-club show back in the halcyon days of the early 1990s, when the line between electronic music and indie was gettiing very blurred indeed. They pulled off the magic trick of creating a kind of pastoral electronica for the 1990s, an update of Kraftwerk’s countryside excursions and night walks to be found on Side Two of ‘Autobahn‘. Today, their music is still attached to a sense of place, with field recordings woven in to an unfolding journeys of electronic improvisations.

If you need a reminder of their graceful brilliance, you can watch the session they did for us in our studio last year.

Support comes from Alphabox and Riigs. You can buy tickets for the Water Rats show here.
