Stylophone-playing punk crooner in Gilbert And George-inspired video

Paul Morricone’s new single ‘People In My Way’ captures something of contemporary agitation through its frantic drum track, wavering bass line and sonic interventions, all underpinning Morricone’s classic baritone voice and saxophone. The Gilbert And George-inspired video was directed by Morricone himself.

Morricone’s third solo album, the wide-ranging ‘Go Sanction Yourself‘, is released on 19 April. Its mix of intensity and psychedelic easy listening sees him living up to BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson’s description of him as “a dream collaboration between Scott Walker and Massive Attack“.
