Experimental producer drops new split-screen video

Ahead of his forthcoming album, ‘Vanishing Artefacts’ (to be released on Castles In Space on 14 April), here’s the premiere of the video for Paul Cousins’ ‘Broken Patches Of Sky’, featuring the London producer and sound designer’s tape wizardry in split-screen. Soaringly lovely it is, too.

The album itself is a “collection of reel-to-reel experiments, tape loops, analogue synths and echo machines”, and there’s an official album launch at London’s Iklectik venue on 9 May, with Cousins promising a scintillating audio-visual performance. A quick look at Cousins’ Instagram feed, with its fetching images of old analogue tape machines and vintage kit, hints at what to expect. An exclusive lathe cut seven-inch single of ‘Broken Patches Of Sky’ – with a remix by Dean Honer – will also be available at the show.
