Field recording, treated guitar and a unique synth

Elif Yalvac uses treated guitar, field recordings and her one-off drone synth to whip up an improvised maelstrom in the Electronic Sound office space.

Now based in the UK, she studied for a masters degree in Sonic Arts from Istanbul Technical University, where she studied chip music for her thesis, “Creating Music ‘Inside The Box’: Do Chiptune’s Limitations Have Aesthetic and Creative Value?” Alongside her solo work, she has an experimental rock project called Diaries of Destruction.
