It’s a beautiful world as Devo co-founder celebrates his 75th today
Today, 28 July 2023, Gerald V Casale, celebrates his 75th birthday. Happy birthday Jerry!
This month’s Electronic Sound, featuring the USA’s finest post-punk/synthpop cultural icons, has been our fastest selling issue of the year. All the stock was cleared out from our webshop within 24 hours. Meanwhile the Devo machine is gearing up for their UK visit in August, having already long sold out the Hammersmith Odeon (Eventim Apollo).
It’s testament to the enduring appeal of the art project cooked up by Casale and his co-conspirators in the early 1970s that 50 years after the band’s debut performance, the appetite for all things Devo remains so strong, and that at 75, he’s heading out on the road to preach the gospel of De-Evolution.
