A member of Bowie-collaborating Danish alt rockers Kashmir, Sweden’s Henrik Lindstrand is perhaps best known for his work as a film and TV composer. A master of melodic subtlety, ‘Nordhem’ collects 14 heart-wrenching moments of evocative, but never cluttered, playing. Signature pieces like ‘Hallonlandet’ and ‘Loranga’ are accompanied by easy-to-miss microcosms of sepia-tinged sonic events far off in the background. The effect Lindstrand creates is like seeing your life presented as a book of poignant photographs.
