One Little Independent recording artist Lomond Campbell makes is own beautiful synthesisers and sound-creating machines, and brought the Unsung Machine to the Electronic Sound space for his session.
Made from wood and brass, the Unsung Machine’s eye-catching feature is its alphabet rollers. The user inputs words one letter at a time, and the machine then takes over.
As Lomond explains: “The Unsung Machine is an experimental interface that introduces aleatoric events into music through the act of entering words on the device.“
“By embedding secrets into the music I’ll explore the alternate meaning of the word ‘unsung’.“
