Electronic Sound favourites confirmed
Bluedot have announced some more names for this year’s science and music festival under the shadow of the Jodrell Bank space telescope in Cheshire.
Joining the headliners Max Richter, Pavement, Grace Jones and Róisín Murphy are synth obsessives the Dewaele brothers, aka Soulwax, aka 2manydjs who will be headlining the Orbit stage on Saturday night with a DJ set. Also on the bill is Erol Alkan whose CV includes Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve project with Richard Norris and remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, Interpol, Metronomy, Ladytron and New Order.
Creep Show, the off-kilter supergroup which brings John Grant together with Wrangler (Stephen Malinder, ex-Cabaret Voltaire, Benge and Phil Winter of Tuung), whose album ‘Mr Dynamite’ was Electronic Sound’s Album of the Year in 2018, join the bill on the Friday.
We also spot London band Sorry on Saturday’s bill. Their album ‘925’ won plaudits towards the end of 2022, and features the work of Marco Pini, whose own project Glows is a favourite on the Electronic Sound stereo. We’re also looking forward to seeing Snapped Ankles, Gwenno, David Holmes, Beak>, Dry Cleaning, The Go! Team, Henge, The Radiophonic Workshop and, of course, Adam Buxton’s Bug, Bowie Special.
It’s like a contents page of Electronic Sound in real life, which is why we are proud to be the official Bluedot media partner.
